Grisha Bruskin (b. 1945) — one of the most renowned contemporary artists, author of paintings, objects, installation and books about art, and winner of the Kandinsky Prize (2012). He can be numbered among artists who have created their own unique personal artistic system. Bruskin does not think in terms of individual works or series, but in terms of large, interconnected and long-term projects with an open-ended structure. The figures in them are often constructed according to a common principle and arranged according to a common scheme; once a solution is found, it becomes a kind of a matrix for further searches; actors are constantly exchanged, and previously utilized motifs and images gain new life in different material.
