Grisha Bruskin was born in 1945 in Moscow to a family of a professor at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute. He graduated from the art department of the Moscow Textile Institute in 1968. He has been participating in exhibitions since 1966, including the 7th Youth Exhibition at the House of Artists on Kuznetsky Bridge in Moscow. His first solo exhibition took place in 1976 at the House of Artists in Moscow, and since then he has held about 30 more solo exhibitions in various cities, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Paris, New York, San Francisco and Chicago. In 2012, Grisha won the Kandinsky Prize for his project "Vremya Ch" in the category "Project of the Year".
