Artist, writer, installation artist, and representative of the post-conceptual art movement. Born May 4, 1953, in Nizhnie Sergi, Sverdlovsk Oblast, to a family of teachers. Graduated from the A. M. Sechenov First Moscow Medical Institute (1979). As a student, he began drawing caricatures, first published in a periodical in 1973. Since 1975, he has been a member of the Moscow City Committee of Graphic Artists. In the 1980s, he illustrated books for the publishing houses "Iskusstvo" and "Kniga." Since 1982, he has been a freelance artist. The artist's works are in many museum and gallery collections in Russia and abroad: Multimedia Art Museum (Moscow), State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts (Moscow), Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Nasher Museum of Art (Durham, USA), Museum of Fine Arts at Northwestern University (Chicago, USA), Museum of Modern Art (New York, USA), Ujazdowski Castle Center for Contemporary Art (Warsaw, Poland), Center for Contemporary Art Luigi Pecci (Prato, Italy) and others.
